Determine the lowest common denominator and calculate the value, reduce the solution and write as a mixed fractions if possible! 
 
 3/4 + 2/ 7/10 =

the lowest common denominator:

4 = 2 * 2 

3 = 1 * 3

10 = 2 * 5 

2 * 2 * 3 * 5 = 60

 

calculate the value:

to make the bottom numbers the same you have to multiply the top and the bottom of 

the first fraction with 15    (because  4 * 15 = 60) 

the second fraction with 20  (because  3 * 20 = 60) 

the third fraction with 6   (because 10 * 6 = 60) 

 
 3*15/4*15 + 2*20/3*20  7*6/10*6 =
 
 45/60 + 40/60  42/60 =
 
85/60  42/60  = 43/60
