the lowest common denominator:

10 = 2  * 5 

2 = 1 * 2      

6 = 2 * 3 

2 * 3 * 5 = 30

 

calculate the value:

to make the bottom numbers the same you have to multiply the top and the bottom of 

the first fraction with 3    (because  10 * 3 = 30) 

the second fraction with 15  (because  2 * 15 = 30) 

the third fraction with 5   (because 6 * 5 = 30) 

 

83/10 – 11/2 – 11/=  

 

83*3/10*3 – 11*15/2*15 – 11*5/6*5 =  

 

249/30 – 165/30 – 55/20 =
